Elizabeth is the mother of Mallory.

As a mother of a child with vitiligo, I pray for a cure every day. It is so difficult to see what my child has to tolerate, the stares, rude comments, ridicule, and just plain ignorance. I know that a lot of it probably happens at school, and she doesn't tell me all of it. I hurt for her and wish I could take the pain away for her.

The AVRF has helped by being a huge support system for us. Mallory knows she has life-long friends, people that truly understand what she deals with.

Stella and Marilyn are also very supportive of me, when ever I need to talk or vent. I have met many other wonderful parents through the AVRF and I know they understand how I feel and what my suffering is like.

I hope everyone will "Embrace Diversity" because, short of a cure, that is the only way my child will be treated normally in this world.
